Big Ten Releases Revised 2022 Football Schedule For All Teams

If you have previously booked hotels for each of Ohio State’s 12 regular-season games next season, you may want to take a seat.

On Wednesday, the Big Ten released a revised 2022 schedule for all 14 teams in the conference. The revisions were similar to the ones that took place prior to the 2021 season as the conference still tries to adjust schedules due to the 2020 COVID-shortened season. There will be further changes for the 2023 season announced in the future.

As it concerns Ohio State, they will still be playing the same 12 teams they were previously scheduled to play, but six of the conference games now have new dates.

The Buckeyes will open with five-consecutive home games: Notre Dame, Arkansas State, Toledo, Wisconsin, and Rutgers. The original schedule had them traveling to Michigan State and Penn State for games four and five.

With the new schedule, however, Ohio State won’t hit the road until an October 8 trip to East Lansing. Following that game they will have a week off to prepare for a home game against Iowa.

The Buckeyes will then head to Penn State for a Halloween Weekend kickoff that will almost assuredly be a White Out game for the Nittany Lions.

Ohio State will play a four-week stretch of games that will feature three road trips. After the visit to Happy Valley, the Buckeyes play at Northwestern. Then they are home for Indiana before heading to Maryland. They then finish the regular season against Michigan in Columbus.

Provided The Game actually happens this time, it will be the Wolverines’ first trip to Columbus since their 62-39 loss to the Buckeyes in 2018.
