COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes saw enough in Cleveland Glenville class of 2024 defensive back Bryce West to offer him many months ago but that did not mean that they did not want another look at the talented cornerback.
Tuesday offered that opportunity as the Tarblooders bus tour made its way to Ohio State and there were plenty of interested parties to check out how the 5-foot-11, 177-pounder is coming along.
“I definitely have something to prove,” West said after the camp. “I don’t want coaches to think of me as some kind of slouch or someone who doesn’t work on their craft.”
West is currently closing in on two-dozen offers and his bus tour may get him there as more schools get a chance to see him in person and go through a camp setting.
Being an Ohioan, there is an expectation that Ohio State may be tough to beat in this recruitment and West admits that he admires the Ohio State program a great deal. In that same vein, he is hearing a lot of schools recruiting “against” Ohio State.
“Definitely, I hear that all the time,” West said. “Every college I go to… for me, I feel that this is home. I could fit in at any other college but since I am from Ohio, it is easier to click with everybody.”
What else did West have to say after his camp outing? Check it out in this post-camp interview.
