WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – If there is a top receiver in the nation, the Buckeyes will find him and more often than not will land him.
The greater-Tampa area is well-known for producing more than its fair share of talent and while Wiregrass Ranch may be a newer high school, it already has been producing some top guys and Ohio State commit Bryson Rodgers would be a No. 1 receiver at just about any high school across the nation and tops on the receiver board for most programs.
Rodgers committed to Ohio State somewhat out of the blue, at least when it came to expected timelines as he didn’t even wait to get home from his Ohio State spring game visit to make the call and give the news to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day in person.
“I had no plans on committing, my commitment day was in July,” Rodgers said. “I just felt it, it was a feeling out process. Had a great time with coach Day and coach Hartline, building that connection even more and just… it felt right.”
And when the feeling is right?
“Perfect timing, God’s timing and I just made the decision,” Rodgers added. “I went into coach Day’s office after, he was there with his wife after the spring game. Told him, we talked about it, and he loved it.”
Rodgers knows that the Buckeyes will be stacked once again at the position, but he is not running from the competition and instead is looking forward to it and trying to help the Buckeyes build the receiver room, a four-man class could be coming in ’23.
Rodgers is already in the fold, but he had a scouting report on the other three receivers that he is targeting for his news team.
Brandon Inniss – “He’s the nation’s best receiver. He’s very strong handed, very great body type. Makes plays.”
Carnell Tate – “He plays a national schedule at IMG, so he is definitely ready to go to college and make an impact. He has all the features.”
Noah Rogers – “I feel very strong on Noah, I have been talking with Noah a lot I feel a big boom coming soon with Noah, so stay tuned.”
