A great weekend on the field has turned to a great weekend off the field for the Ohio State program. After dominating Clemson to win the Sugar Bowl last night, the Buckeyes have now landed one of the top players in the 2022 recruiting class in five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary.
The big-time prospect out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Robert E. Lee wasn’t offered by Ohio State until November, and had long been considered a Florida lean, but a huge push the Buckeyes over the past couple of months turned the tide. Along with Florida, the Buckeyes were able to beat out Clemson and Georgia for Singletary.
The Jacksonville area has been good to Ohio State in recent years, sending guys like Shaun Wade, Tyreke Johnson, and Marcus Crowley north to Ohio. Much like Wade, Singletary is a big cornerback prospect with elite athleticism.
Ohio State is off to another torrid start on the recruiting trail in the 2022 cycle. Singletary is commitment No. 10 already for the Buckeyes in a class that is currently ranked No. 1 by all services.
BuckeyeScoop.com will have more coming shortly on this big commitment.
