2023 4-star tight end Ty Lockwood’s recruitment is now down to four schools, and the Buckeyes are one of the schools still in the mix.

Ohio State, South Carolina, Penn State and Florida State are the schools that are still in the race for Lockwood.

Lockwood was offered by Ohio State in February. He said that he could see himself playing for head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson.

“Ohio State is a place that I think can develop me a lot as a player and a lot as a person,” he said. “Coach Day is a great guy and I could see myself playing for him, along with coach Wilson.”

Lockwood has been on Ohio State’s campus twice this summer, with the most recent visit taking place at the Buckeyes Bash and BBQ. He enjoyed his time at the event and got the opportunity to meet more coaches on the staff.

“It was fun getting to go back and meet players and get to know more and more coaches,” he said.

Despite releasing his top four, don’t expect Lockwood to rush into making a commitment with a school. He wants to take his time and make sure that he’s making the right decision for him and his future.

“I am in no rush at all to make a decision, no,” he said. “I am going to take all my time and focus on making the right decision.”
