The offer run is continuing for 2023 two-way lineman Luke Montgomery and the Findlay (OH) star added a big one Thursday afternoon.
“I was offered by Ohio State,” Montgomery told BuckeyeScoop. “I usually speak to Ohio State once a week and I had no idea they were going to offer me at this time. I was offered by Coach Stud (offensive line coach Greg Studrawa).”
“They are recruiting me as an offensive tackle and that’s where I’m going to be playing next year as a junior,” he added.
Montgomery, 6-foot-5, 265-pounds, holds 17 offers right now and the Buckeyes are clearly at or near the top. He has played defensive end and tight end in his career, and is one of the top 2023 prospects in America.
“The offer from Ohio State is awesome and I was shaking when I heard the news,” Montgomery admitted. “I would say they are right up there for me and this was such a great moment for me and my family.”
“Coach Stud said they are offering me now because the dead period has been extended and they really wanted to do it in person,” he said. “Coach Stud said he is going to get me on with Coach (Ryan) Day tomorrow and that will be really cool.”
“I would say this offer puts Ohio State in the top group with schools like Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Michigan State,” he concluded.
As he is currently hearing from most of the top programs in the country, including Alabama and Clemson, it’s a certainty that Montgomery’s offer list will comtinue to grow moving forward.
