Buckeyes Set the Standard for Five-Star Athlete Treyaun Webb

Ohio State has found recruiting success in Jacksonville over the past few years, which is home to some of the best talent in the state of Florida and the country. The Buckeyes are hoping that pipeline continues with 5-star athlete Treyaun Webb, who plays for Jacksonville Trinity Christian Academy – the same program that produced former Buckeyes Shaun Wade, Tyreke Johnson and current Buckeye Marcus Crowley.

Webb’s first visit to Ohio State was nothing short of sensational, so much so that it was hard for him to leave Columbus.

“It was great honestly,” Webb said. “I didn’t want to leave.”

During his short time in Columbus, Webb got the opportunity to talk with and learn from running backs coach Tony Alford. Webb ran routes and did different drills that Alford put him through. Webb appreciated and enjoyed the chance to get to know Alford better.

“It was great, I got to know him more as a coach and person,” he said. “He taught me a lot, I enjoyed every minute of it.”

Webb was able to spend some time with his former Trinity Christian teammate and current Ohio State running back Marcus Crowley. The two constantly keep in touch and he reaches out to Crowley for advice. He enjoyed the time he got to spend with Crowley while in Columbus.

“It was great – he is like big brother to me,” Webb said. “He taught me almost everything I know. We chilled and played madden and just hung out.”

Webb said that the family environment is what impressed him the most about Ohio State. On Tuesday evening, he along with 5-star running back Richard Young joined Alford, Crowley as well as other current Buckeye running backs for dinner.

Webb will be visiting Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Miami this month. But after his visit to Ohio State, the Buckeyes are in a great place for Webb.
