The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions will be playing under the lights at Ohio Stadium as the Big Ten announced that the October 30th game between the two top-10 teams will be a 7:30pm affair, broadcast nationally on ABC.
This game will be Ohio State’s fourth night game of the season, second straight. The Buckeyes opened at Minnesota for a night game, took on in-state Akron and will play a night game at Indiana this upcoming weekend.
Ohio State generally plays night games at Penn State under the backdrop of a “white out” game. The Buckeyes have not hosted the Nittany Lions under the lights since the 2013 season, a 63-14 drubbing by the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes would rack up 686 yards of total offense before calling off the dogs as Ohio State would rush for six touchdowns (two by Carlos Hyde, Braxton Miller and Kenny Guiton).
Much like Penn State’s white out, the Buckeyes will be going for something similar as fans have been asked to ‘scarlet out the stadium’ as the team will wear all scarlet uniforms.
The Buckeyes hold a 22-14 edge all-time in this series and have won the last four games and eight of the last night.
This is Ohio State’s first night game at home since the 2019 Michigan State game, a game the Buckeyes won 34-10 over the Spartans.
