Athletes from all over the country made their way to Columbus on Thursday for Ohio State’s Buckeye’s Bash and BBQ.
One of those athletes was 2023 3-star offensive lineman Clay Wedin from Valrico, Fl. This was Wedin’s first time on campus, and Ohio State left a lasting impression on the rising junior.
“Everything was great,” he said. “Loved meeting the coaching staff and support staff. Facilities were also amazing.”
Wedin, who attends the Carrollwood Day School in the Tampa region, earned his offer from Ohio State last July. He got the opportunity to not only meet running backs coach Tony Alford, who is his main recruiter, but he also met the rest of the coaching staff as well as the recruits who were on campus.
“It was great to see everyone in person and to see some other recruits was pretty cool,” he said.
In addition to touring the campus, Wedin got the opportunity to check out the Columbus staple, The Thurman Cafe. Wedin was very high on the BBQ that he had while on campus.
“It was some real good BBQ,” he said. “Had some grilled chicken, amazing Mac and cheese, and some cornbread.”
Wedin said on twitter that he’s already planning his next visit to Columbus.
