    ST. MARYS, Ohio – The elusive quest for a big man has ended for the class of 2023 with the commitment of St. Marys (Ohio) Memorial high school center Austin Parks, a 6-foot-10, 240-pounder.

    It has not always been easy for the Buckeyes to close the deal on that elusive center but for Parks, the decision to be a Buckeye was relatively easy, despite holding close to a dozen offers and having a final three of Ohio State, Indiana and West Virginia.

    “It’s all excitement, now that I am committed to the school that I want to continue at, it’s about playing basketball now,” Parks said.

    As a member of the class of 2023, Parks still has a senior season to go through before enrolling at Ohio State but can focus on that with recruiting behind him.

    Parks had plenty of time to make a decision, but it was important to get the decision over and done with.
