In recent months, Ohio State’s recruiting focus at wide receiver has primarily focused on five-star Washington standout Emeka Egbuka and South Florida four-star speedster Troy Stellato.
On Friday afternoon, Stellato committed to Clemson over the Buckeyes and many other programs, denying Ohio State of a third wide receiver pledge in the 2021 recruiting class.
Stellato had been on the radar for the Buckeyes for over a year and turned in an impressive performance at a one-day camp last summer. He then was offered back in the fall and was a priority target for the Ohio State offensive staff.
The Buckeyes and Tigers have both been finalists for many of the top wide receiver prospects this cycle, including guys like Stellato, Marvin Harrison Jr., Beaux Collins, and Emeka Egbuka.
