Ohio State was set to play San Jose State as their season opener on September 9, 2023, but that matchup has been scrapped and instead the Buckeyes will open against Youngstown State instead.



Buckeye Scoop has confirmed that the San Jose State game was a mutually-agreed upon cancelation.



Ohio State’s 2023 non-conference schedule now features the season opener at home against Youngstown State, followed by another home game against Western Kentucky. The Buckeyes then head to South Bend, Indiana to face Notre Dame on September 23, 2023.



The rest of the 2023 schedule has not been set yet by the Big Ten conference.
