The Buckeyes landed a big piece on the basketball front with the commitment of class of 2023 center Austin Parks over Indiana and West Virginia. The 6-foot-10, 240-pounder joins fellow four-star George Washington III as part of Chris Holtmann’s class of 2023 for the Buckeyes.

The St. Marys (Ohio) Memoria star held nine offers during the process including the likes of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State from the Big Ten along with Ohio State before ultimately deciding to pledge to the Buckeyes.

As a sophomore, Parks averaged 14.1 points per game along with 7.3 rebounds for his high school squad, all while shooting 57.8-percent from the floor.

Ohio State recruiting has been strong under Holtmann but the quest for a skilled big man has been a little befuddling for the Buckeyes and Parks may be the hidden gem that the Buckeyes have been looking for.
