The Buckeyes have made the top-seven of talented four-star safety Malik Hartford out of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West. The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder went to social media to post his top list of schools that included Ohio State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Michigan, West Virginia and Kentucky.

Hartford recently picked up his Ohio State offer during a January unofficial visit with the Buckeyes and once Ohio State got involved, the race was really on to land the in-state star.

The Buckeyes have been well aware of Hartford and with bringing safeties coach Perry Eliano over from Cincinnati to Ohio State, it seemed like a mere formality that the stakes would be upped between Ohio State and Hartford.
