Ohio State’s big recruiting weekend did not take all that long to pay off as the Buckeyes are on the board with a top in-state target with the commitment of offensive lineman Joshua Padilla out of Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne high school.

This is Ohio State’s second commit for the class, joining tight end Ty Lockwood in Ryan Day’s class of 2023.

Padilla has been no stranger to Ohio State, camping over the summer and a frequent visitor to campus, it always felt like it was going to be a “when” rather than “if” but you never take a commitment for granted and the Buckeyes put in plenty of work to land the 6-foot-4, 265-pound four-star.

The newest Ohio State commit held close to 20 offers including powers like Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, WVU, Pitt and others before ultimately deciding to select Ohio State.

It will be some time before Padilla steps on to the Ohio State campus and puts on the Scarlet and Gray, but the questions will persist of where he projects at the...
