    In this era of the College Football Playoff the human polls mean little as a formula of human/computer polls don’t determine who has the right to play for the national championship, a committee in Grapevine (Texas) does.

    That does not mean we ignore the two longtime human polls as the weekly Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls are released on Sunday afternoons.

    The polls took notice of Ohio State’s 59-31 win over then No. 19 Purdue on Saturday afternoon as Ohio State moved up to No. 5 in the AP poll and up to No. 4 in the coaches poll. This is on the heels of Ohio State moving up to No. 4 in the ‘week two’ CFP rankings on Tuesday.
