COLUMBUS – Recruiting calendars are speeding up and younger players are getting identified quicker.
A perfect example of that is class of 2025 running back Donovan Johnson out of Savannah (Ga.). The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder already has more than a dozen offers, including one from Ohio State and could end up with every major offer by the time it is all said and done.
Wednesday was a chance to camp at Ohio State and work with running backs coach Tony Alford, something that Johnson was all about as the two have already developed a great personal relationship here in the early stages of his recruitment.
“I love coach Alford, it is family (at Ohio State),” Johnson said.
Johnson pointed out that the conversations are rarely about football and more about life and that is something that really resonates well with him as he is working on learning about all of the schools that have interest in him.
