    WEST CHESTER, Ohio – The Buckeyes got their man with Lakota West safety Malik Hartford. He made his pick earlier on Wednesday and the 6-foot-3 safety is happy to be able to shed the label of recruit and become a committed prospect and get down to business.

    Cincinnati and Michigan State may have been Ohio State’s biggest threats on this one but there was a list of several schools that comprised his final list before ultimately picking the Buckeyes.

    There is little doubt that Ohio State’s on-field success means a lot to Hartford but he cares just as much about what Ohio State is able to do for players outside of football.

    Hartford specifically singled out new Ohio State safeties coach Perry Eliano as one of the biggest draws to Ohio State.
