May 28, 2020
Ohio State announced on Monday that baseball coach Greg Beals has been informed that he will not be returning for the 2023 season. Beals had one year left on his contract.

The Buckeyes wrapped up their regular season this past weekend with a 21-30 record overall and 8-14 mark in Big Ten play. They did not qualify for the Big Ten Tournament.

Beals was at Ohio State for 12 seasons, reaching three NCAA Regionals (2016, 2018, 2019). His Buckeyes won Big Ten Tournament titles in 2016 and 2019. He finished with a record of 346-288-1 at Ohio State, including a 141-139 mark in Big Ten play.

The Buckeyes competed in eight Big Ten Tournaments in Beals’ 12 seasons.

Ohio State will begin the search for their new head baseball coach immediately.
