    Four-star defensive end Jason Moore has announced his verbal commitment to Ohio State.



    Moore (6-6 255) is the No. 5 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 53 player in the 2023 class overall. He attends DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland and is ranked the No. 1 player in the state.



    The last time the Buckeyes landed a defensive end out of DeMatha Catholic was six years ago this month and his name was Chase Young.



    Moore is ranked about 25 spots lower than Young was at the time of his commitment, but there is still an entire senior season to see if he can get into that same five-star stratosphere.



    Moore took official visits to Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Notre Dame this past June, and also held offers from Alabama, LSU, Florida, Oregon, USC, and a dozen other top programs.
