Ohio State picked up a commitment from its top in-state target in the 2023 class on Thursday afternoon when Findlay offensive lineman Luke Montgomery chose the Buckeyes over Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma.

The long time priority target is now positioned to become a class leader for the Ohio State recruiting efforts. Below, we’re taking an in-depth look at what this means for the Buckeyes both in the short and long term.

What Ohio State is getting

The Buckeyes are getting one of the more versatile offensive line prospects in the 2023 recruiting class with Montgomery’s pledge. At 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, Montgomery has some of the best feet in this class, the type of pure athleticism and quickness that can thrive on the outside as a left tackle.
