Former Ohio State defensive back Lejond Cavazos entered the transfer portal three weeks ago and today he emerged as a North Carolina Tar Heel.
Cavazos announced his move via social media.
Cavazos saw action at cornerback in eight games last season as a redshirt freshman, finishing with nine tackles.
This spring, Cavazos was moved from cornerback to Nickel, and was third in line at that position behind Oklahoma State transfer Tanner McCalister and redshirt sophomore Cameron Martinez. His move from cornerback was made possible thanks to the presence of second-year cornerbacks Jordan Hancock and Jakailin Johnson.
Cavazos was the second cornerback from OSU’s 2020 recruiting class to transfer, joining Ryan Watts, who left for Texas after last season.
Cavazos was a four-star prospect out of San Antonio, Texas. He was ranked the No. 352 player overall and the No. 26 corner in the nation.
