Friday morning kicked off the first of fifteen practices scheduled for the Buckeyes and plenty of the newcomers were eager to show themselves off donning the Ohio State practice uniforms. Luckily for these early enrollees, we are just as excited to see them.

Kyle McCord, who departs from one of the elite high schools in preparing it’s student athletes physically and mentally for the next level, St. Joseph’s Prep, shows off No. 14 in Spring practice No. 1. McCord has the opportunity to take the first snaps under center come September 2nd and he arrived in January with expectations for himself to do so.

In honor of his grandfather, Albert “Airplane” Lee, TreVeyon Henderson enters his first season as an Ohio State Buckeye wearing No. 32, the same number Lee wore during his time at Hopewell high school. Henderson has only been on campus for approximately 2 months but already looks the part of a college football tailback.

Fellow Freshman running back Evan Pryor also opted for the double digit jersey in what should be an interesting change in the backfield as the game of football has seen increasingly more skill players opt for a single digit below their nameplate.

In the 2020 and 2021 recruiting cycles, Ohio State has signed 7 total wide receivers. All 7 elected to enroll early, including the three who signed in December. 2020’s Mookie Cooper has since departed from the program and has found a new home at Missouri but Emeka Egbuka, Jayden Ballard and Marvin Harrison Jr. look to get a headstart on cracking one of America’s deepest position groups this Spring.

Defensive tackle Tyleik Williams, accompanied by five-star defensive end Jack Sawyer, are the two lineman to arrive on campus early for Larry Johnson Sr. while Mike Hall will be joining this group in the summer.

Freshman safety Jantzen Dunn took to Twitter Friday afternoon to show off the No.24, taking over for former All-American cornerback Shaun Wade.

Wideout Emeka Egbuka, tight end Sam Hart, offensive linemen Zen Michalski and Ben Christman, defensive end Jack Sawyer, linebacker Reid Carrico, cornerback Denzel Burke and punter Jesse Mirco did not opt in on the social media excitement but it is only a matter of time until the Spring game arrives and the scarlet and gray uniforms are flying all over the field. 28 days to be exact but who’s counting, right?
