It has been more than a decade since an Ohio State player returned a kickoff for a touchdown, but after watching freshman phenom Emeka Egbuka there for the last few games, it seems like just a matter of time before that streak ends.

Why did the Buckeyes choose to trust the freshman with that important role? and why is he so good at it?

In this episode of the Morning Scoop, you’ll hear directly from OSU head coach Ryan Day and wide receiver Chris Olave on Egbuka’s emergence, and several other topics.

  • What is the status of running back Miyan Williams?
  • Will cornerback Cam Brown be back for the Indiana game?
  • Are the Buckeyes adding in new looks to overwhelm upcoming opponents?

  1. Emeka has a “Josh Cribbs” element of toughness and physicality with way more top-end speed. His future is unlimited. He is going to break one this year, hopefully in a big game.
