COLUMBUS – If you are looking for linemen in the state of Ohio you don’t have to go much further than Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward’s in the class of 2024. Earlier in the month we had a chance to see Ben Roebuck and on Tuesday it was a chance for the Armstrong twins to show out.

Devontae and Deontae are identical twins and when you see the pair in a group, it is hard to tell the difference but once you get to talk to the pair, you see that there are some differences, albeit few.

“We are identical twins, there is not much difference,” Deontae said after the Tuesday camp. “Maybe in personality, people will start to know the difference between the personalities.”

“It has been said that I am more quiet, he is louder,” Devontae echoed.

Both players have double-digit offers, including several from Power Five schools. In fact the duo have the same offers, but that is to be expected but there is a reality that one could pick up an offer the other doesn’t or that one twin could end up at a different school than the other.

“(A school) might need a left guard and not a right tackle and so forth,” Devontae said.

For those keeping track at home, Devontae is repping at left guard while Deontae plays right tackle.

It is hard at times to tell the two apart, but college coaches have taken notice of each.

“It has been nice, a lot of camps, talking to college coaches, a lot of calls and a lot of relationships being built,” Deontae said.

The Buckeyes have not offered to this point but it is early in the process and Ohio State has not handed out many in-state offers thus far. The pair understand how major recruiting works and are patient and just having the opportunity to camp and work with the Ohio State staff was a treat.

“Being a Buckeye fan for my life… working with the coaches, talking to Ryan Day, it means even more,” Deontae said.

“Watching Ohio State all of our lives, meeting the coaches and being able to establish relationships with the coaches is surreal to me,” Devontae said.

Check out more of what the pair had to say in this post-camp interview from the final day of the Ohio State recruiting camps.
