One week after leaving the Minnesota game following an apparent shoulder injury, Ohio State senior safety Josh Proctor is a game-time decision this week against Oregon.
Proctor played well in his first career start last week at free safety, totaling seven tackles and having an interception overturned due to a roughing the passer call.
Proctor was replaced by redshirt sophomore Bryson Shaw, who also played well. Both safeties graded out as Champions. If Proctor cannot go, he will likely again be replaced by Shaw.
Junior center Harry Miller is out again this week. Redshirt freshman Luke Wypler started for Miller last year and also graded out a Champion. Wypler did have a couple of bad snaps, but the conditions were less than idea for snapping.
Some possible good news for the Buckeyes is that neither Sevyn Banks or Cameron Brown are listed as part of the availability report that OSU released this morning. The two fourth-year cornerbacks are both expected to play.
Banks was a game-time decision last week after apparently tweaking something in warmups. Brown has seemingly recovered well from his Achilles injury last year, but apparently suffered some other minor injury during fall camp.
The Buckeyes played four cornerbacks last week and will now be even deeper. True freshman Denzel Burke got the start last week in the absence of Banks and Brown. Defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs said this week that he expects Burke to remain in the cornerback rotation when Banks and Brown return.
There is also possibly some good news on the defensive front front, as senior defensive tackle Jerron Cage is listed as a game-time decision. Cage suffered what looked to be a shoulder or arm injury of some sort in camp.
