Five-star 2021 defensive end JT Tuimoloau has canceled an official visit to Alabama that was planned for this weekend. The news was first reported by 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman, who is essentially the only reporter that the Tuimoloau family has talked to of late. Tuimolau will now concentrate on his four finalists of USC, Washington, Oregon, and Ohio State. He has taken official visits to all four schools, most recently seeing the Oregon campus this week.
Tuimoloau, who is the No. 3 player in the nation and the No. 2 defensive lineman overall, visited the Buckeyes last weekend. His Ohio State visit began with the Buckeye defensive staff greeting the Tuimoloau family at the airport. According to Huffman, the family will now take a few days to consider their options.
Should Tuimoloau choose Ohio State, he would give the Buckeyes two of the top four players in the 2021 class, as he would join fellow defensive end Jack Sawyer for an impressive bookend duo. The Buckeyes’ defensive plan for Tuimoloau has been a plus for Ohio State’s chances, as has defensive line coach Larry Johnson’s history of producing very productive defensive ends who end up with very lucrative contracts.
So what does Tuimoloau’s cancelation of the Alabama visit ultimately mean for the Buckeyes? Kirk Barton and Nevadabuck talk it out in this emergency edition of the Scoop World Order podcast.
