INDIANAPIOLIS – It was a busy first day at Big Ten Media Days in the Circle City of Indianapolis as the conference welcomed both the men’s and women’s teams to the podium. Chris Holtmann and Kevin McGuff took part in day one and our Mick Walker and Matt Goldman were there for all of the action.
Holtmann brought forward Kyle Young and EJ Liddell to the annual event and according to his players, Holtmann was decked out in his “drip”.
The Ohio State head coach talked about how the addition of the three transfers will help the Buckeyes this season as well as there has been an emphasis on the defense this offseason. He also noted that this upcoming season is the hardest non-conference schedule he has ever faced.
Young and Liddell are excited to get back to playing games in front of the fans after a season largely without fans in attendance at Value City Arena.
On the women’s side, Jacy Sheldon and Braxtin Miller represented the women’s team where they talked about bringing a lot of the members of last year’s team back. The women have eight of their 13 members from the state of Ohio on their roster.
Coach Kevin McGuff talked about how he loves keeping girls from Ohio in state to come play for the Buckeyes. Both teams look to continue their winning this year and hope to use their veteran leadership within a tough conference.
We are wrapping things up with this video report from the Fieldhouse with all of the action.
