It was known that 2022 Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman safety Zion Branch was making his official visit to Ohio State this past weekend, but it was a bit overlooked that his younger brother, 2023 wide receiver Zachariah Branch, would be accompanying him on the trip as well.

The younger Branch is a 5-foot-10, 175-pounder who is ranked by the 247Composite as a 4-star prospect and top 100 player in his own right. Coming into the trip he held offers from 18 schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and others. He added a scholarship from the Buckeyes while on his visit to Columbus this weekend.

“It was very exciting to earn an offer from THE Ohio State University given how big of a program and school they are,” Branch told Buckeye Scoop following the visit.”

Branch spent a lot of time with his potential future position coach, Brian Hartline, while in town.

“Coach Hartline and I vibed well,” he shared. “He has a great personality and is a great person to be around. There was never a dull moment while hanging out with him.”

Buckeye Scoop has reported that Ohio State is being held in very high regard by Zion following this trip, but how does Zachariah feel about the potential to play in Scarlet and Gray now that he’s seen what they have to offer in person?

“They are definitely a top contender in my recruiting process thus far,” he responded when asked. “I was very impressed with everything Ohio State had to offer in all aspects.”

  1. Great offer by Hartline and Day…………….

Helps you lock in big bro, and lets you further evaluate Zachariah.

  2. As of now I have no reason to believe anything has changed but obviously the watch what they do not what they say rule has to apply even when it doesn’t favor OSU. Definitely watching this one—maybe things are changing as time goes on? I know OSU felt they had this one after the visit
