A-Deck: The Game Aftermath And Moving Forward For Ohio State

Welcome to “A-Deck” at Buckeye Scoop, where I’ll bring you inside scoop, what I’m hearing, tidbits, thoughts, and more on Ohio State recruiting and team coverage every Tuesday.

Last week’s A-Deck shared a breakdown of reactions from the Michigan State recruiting weekend.

This week, I provide some thoughts on The Game and how Ohio State will move forward to better their program.

What happened against The Team Up North? What does Ohio State need to do this off-season to return in 2022 as “for real” national title contenders?

I have read numerous comments but have yet to see anything related to our offense playing slow. TTUN has had trouble all year adjusting to a hurry up offense. Day allowed them time to adjust instead of making their defense off balanced.

I agree that we should have been more up tempo. We let them dictate the game to us when it should have the other way around. Everyone coming back next year- players and coaching staff- needs to have this stewing inside of them throughout the year

The whole defensive staff should be fired. Not one time did the defense coordinator put extra men in box. Defensive ends have no knowledge of setting edges. For a whole season couldn't figure out or motivate defense. Strength in recruiting can't be only qualification. Larry J, Kerry C and linebackers coach on next flight out of Columbus.

Can't be up tempo if the offensive line can't stop getting pre snap penalties
