Despite losing their first regular season game under Ryan Day against Oregon last week, and struggling throughout most of the game against both Minnesota and Tulsa, the pundits in Las Vegas have a lot of confidence in Ohio State going up against Akron in week four.

Per Circa Sports, the Buckeyes have opened up as massive 53-point favorites against the Zips next week, in a game that will be played at 7:30 PM ET and will be aired on Big Ten Network.

While the Buckeyes have indeed struggled and deserve their fair share of criticism from both fans and media alike, they should coast to an easy victory against the in-state MAC opponent they’ll take on next week. The Zips enter the contest at 1-2 on the season, coming off their first victory (35-10) against FCS Bryant following back-to-back losses to Auburn and Temple by a combined score of 105-34.

This game may be just what Ohio State needs to build a little confidence heading into full-on conference play, and Vegas certainly thinks they are going to roll.

  1. Is this the first time we are playing a MAC team at night? This should be a noon game. I see another low attendance game of under 76K.
