The No. 4 Minnesota men’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Ohio State with a 5-2 win Saturday evening at the Schottenstein Center.
The game marked the first career start for OSU senior goaltender Evan Moyse. He finished with 22 saves.
The Gophers jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than eight minutes into the game, and then really took control after OSU’s Collin Peters was called for a game misconduct for checking from behind and Ryan O’Connell was simultaneously called for tripping.
Minnesota capitalized with a pair of power play goals to make it 3-0.
Tate Singleton got one back for the Buckeyes later in the second period, and the teams traded goals in the third before the Gophers capped off their 5-2 win with an empty netter in the final minute.
