The Rose Bowl has been played in its current stadium for 100 years. Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Utah Utes played one of the most exciting and dramatic games in that century-long history.
OSU battled back from a number of 14-point deficits to take the lead in the fourth quarter, only to see the Utes come back to tie the game at 45 behind their third-string quarterback.
But the Ohio State offense simply would not be denied, as they marched back down the field to set up a game-winning field goal by Noah Ruggles.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba tied a school record with 15 receptions, and shattered the single-game OSU receiving mark with 297 yards.
Freshman WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. caught three touchdowns, and CJ Stroud broke the school record with 573 yards passing and tied another single-game mark with six touchdown passes.
