Sevyn Banks, Kamryn Babb Out for Rest of Spring for Buckeyes

Ohio State is now down a couple of veterans as senior cornerback Sevyn Banks and fourth-year junior wide receiver Kamryn Babb will be out the rest of spring with injuries.

Ohio State has confirmed this with Buckeye Scoop.

Banks was a starting cornerback last year for the Buckeyes and is expected to be again this year. His absence, while not ideal, will allow for some necessary growth of the young cornerbacks behind him. In fact, earlier on Thursday, secondary coach Matt Barnes had some very good things to say about redshirt freshman Cam Martinez and true freshman Denzel Burke.

Ohio State has not revealed the nature of either injury.

For Babb, this appears to be a set back following a resurgence that saw him play in every game last year after missing most of his career due to ACL tears. Babb had emerged as a leader among the receivers and will no doubt continue in that role as he handles his rehabilitation.

The Buckeyes are nearing the mid-way point of spring camp.
