Silver Bullets Podcast – Declarations, Early Enrollees, and Coaching Stuff

The bad news is that it’s the college football off-season. The good news is that there is still college football news for us to cover. The best news is that instead of going dark during the off-season as in years past, the Silver Bullets Podcast will continue to drop new episodes. We plan to be here every two weeks until our 2021 season preview shows, when we will go weekly. (Because you don’t have enough podcasts to listen to at Buckeye Scoop!)

Chip and I touch on several topics since our last show, including Urban Meyer’s new gig in Jacksonville. Will the NFL experience be a little easier on Meyer’s health or will he continue to be stressed out about every detail of his team as he has been in the past?

Several Buckeyes declared for the NFL draft, while several other Buckeyes did not. We talk about both sides of the ball, which decisions surprised us the most, and what those decisions mean for the team in 2021 and beyond.

The youngsters are on campus in huge numbers and that’s a good thing, especially if there’s a normal spring football session this year. The early enrollment rate has skyrocketed the last two years and it’s good to see so many freshmen eager to become Buckeyes, particularly after some of them didn’t have a high school season in 2020.

Finally, we touch on the retirement of Greg Mattison and how Ryan Day might look to replace him.

If you’ve got something you’d like to ask us in our mailbag section, hit us up
on Twitter at @Mike36fan and @ChipMinnich and answers will be provided on the next episode.

Enjoy this week’s show. Thanks for listening.
