Silver Bullets Podcast — Purdue Rewind & Sparty Preview

Ohio State didn’t have nearly as much trouble with the Purdue Boilermakers as we expected. Despite some defensive concerns in a game that was basically over at halftime, there wasn’t much to be upset about with a 59-31 win over the 19th-ranked team in the country. Chip Minnich and I broke down the game, which featured a much more balanced attack from the Buckeyes and a huge game from [gestures at all of the Buckeyes’ offensive weapons]. We checked in on our score predictions and our picks to click and discussed who graded out as champions this week.

There was some OSU-related news out of Tuscaloosa as former Buckeye Jameson Williams whined about Ohio State fans “disowning” him. I’m not sure if something prompted that statement but it seemed odd.

We also briefly talked about another player losing his black stripe.

There were some big games elsewhere in the B1G this weekend and we talk through all of the other results around the league. Penn State is still struggling, the Minnesota Golden Gophers can’t decide if they want to win the West or not, and all of a sudden Wisconsin is Wisconsining again.

Finally, we look ahead to Saturday’s Senior Day showdown against the Michigan State Spartans. There’s a pretty good offense (especially in the running game) in East Lansing and the Buckeyes will have their hands full on defense. Sparty has been pretty good against the run but not so good against the pass. Ohio State should be able to move the ball, but will this be a high-scoring affair for both sides?

We finish things off with our score predictions and our picks to click.
