Welcome to Hate Week.

The Ohio State Buckeyes wasted no time putting the Michigan State Spartans away, flexing their offensive muscles and racing out to a 49-0 lead before allowing the visitors to dent the scoreboard. Along the way, Kenneth Walker III all but exited the Heisman Trophy conversation thanks to a strong showing by the OSU defensive line and the offense turning the game into a track meet. Chip Minnich and I discuss the surprisingly easy game and look back at our predictions and our picks to click from the match-up. We also applaud the nickname Earth, Wind & Fire for the OSU starting wide receivers, wonder if Julian Fleming gets to be “Water” after his touchdown catch, and lament the fact that we only get to use it for a short time before Olave and Wilson depart for Sunday football.

We discuss the large number of players who graded out as champions from Senior Day in the Horseshoe and all of the weekly awards that CJ Stroud racked up as a result of a ridiculous game, especially in the first half.

As usual, we took a walk through the other results in the Big Ten and previewed the Bowl Eligibility Bowl between Rutgers and Maryland. Indiana and Northwestern continue to be terrible, while Purdue and Iowa are hanging around in case Wisconsin reverts to its early-season form (or lack thereof). Nebraska continues to lose every game by one score but the Cornhuskers were jobbed by a huge non-call on an obvious pass interference as they fell short looking for the tying (or go-ahead, if Scott Frost was planning to gamble) touchdown. Oh, and the Wolverines beat Maryland.

Speaking of the filthy rodents up north, Chip and I looked ahead to Saturday’s iteration of The Game, laying out the tale of the tape in terms of Michigan’s offensive and defensive standing and surmise how the Buckeyes can best attack their highly rated defense. We also wonder whether Ryan Day has been playing a long con by not throwing much to Jeremy Ruckert the last two weeks and putting TreVeyon Henderson on the sideline early all season.

Finally, we make our score predictions for The Game and select our picks to click.
