Top 100 linebacker Jalon Walker previews decision

SALISBURY, N.C. — Ohio State priority linebacker target Jalon Walker is just a couple of weeks away from announcing his college commitment. The Top 100 prospect out of Salisbury, North Carolina recently cut his list to six schools with Ohio State making the cut.

Joining the Buckeyes on the list are Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina. Walker’s recruitment has been a fierce battle, but the four-star prospect is set to choose his school on March 28th. Before he does that, BuckeyeScoop.com recruiting analyst Mick Walker caught up with the Tar Heel State star to get his thoughts on his spring football season, having a college coach for a father, the schools recruiting him, and more.

Walker has had to narrow his list and try to make a decision during a time where in-person interactions with college coaches are off limits to the NCAA’s extended Dead Period. But he has still put in the time to learn as much as he can about all of his top choices.

“I’ve been talking to coaches throughout the (past several) weeks,” Walker explained. “Getting the best information that I can get to make the best decision for me. I’ve been on many zoom calls just getting the best information and (the colleges) have been sending me information about who is in their room, (information) about their program, about their campus, and what I want to major in when I get there.”

For the ultimate football family, the weekend of March 28th will be a celebration.

“That week, I play on Friday and my dad plays on Saturday,” Walker continued. “Why not end the week with me committing on Sunday?”
