WATCH: 2023 Centerville Point Guard Gabe Cupps Talks Leadership and Handling Attention

CENTERVILLE — Not too long along we mentioned how high school basketball had finally tipped off in the state of Ohio and which means it was time for us to get back out on the road. After seeing Wayne High School near Dayton at the end of December we headed back out to the Dayton area to see the Warriors’ GWOC rival Centerville.

The Elks are a star-studded team led by social media superstar Gabe Cupps who not only has three million followers on Instagram but is also one of the top 2023 basketball prospects in the Buckeye State. Cupps is a true floor general at the point guard position that averages over six assists and less than one turnover per game. He also has a smooth shooting stroke from beyond the arch and great touch around the basket which is why he averages just nearly 15 points a game. Finally, you would be hard-pressed to find a better all-around defender than Cupps which is another skill that makes him a very intriguing prospect.

However, as Cupps said in our interview with he is not the slightest bit worried about being a college prospect or even his recruitment. Cupps top priority right now is being a great teammate and the overall success of his team. Don’t believe us? Listen to Cupps himself, “I just try to surrender that stuff. If I get recruited I get recruited, if I don’t then I don’t.”
