Ohio State’s quarterback search in the class of 2023 is going to be interesting, to say the least. The Buckeyes offered a couple of rising junior signal callers last week following the June 2nd one-day camp. On Wednesday, another 2023 prospect was offered in Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood star Dylan Lonergan. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect added the Buckeyes to a list that also includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Penn State, and many, many others.
Lonergan is also a star on the baseball diamond and many believe he may choose that sport at the next level, which would certainly complicate things for Ohio State and the other programs who are recruiting him at quarterback. But the four-star prospect has been busy this month making football visits and camp stops which does provide a glimmer of hope that the Top 100 prospect is keeping his options open.
Wednesday’s camp also saw the Buckeyes put out their first quarterback offer in the 2024 class. While the morning session was buzzing with the arrival and camp performance of five-star Miami (Fla.) Monsignor Pace defensive end Shemar Stewart, the afternoon session saw Stewart’s teammate, rising sophomore quarterback Adrian Posse, turn in an outstanding performance of his own.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect added Ohio State to early offers from Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Miami as he is quickly becoming one of the most heavily recruited rising sophomore quarterbacks in the nation.
