Wayne’s Star Offensive Tackle Aamil Wagner Breaks Down His Recruitment and Working To Improve

SPRINGFIELD — One of the best high school football conferences in the state of Ohio is the Greater Western Ohio Conference or GWOC as it is often referred to. It is located in the Dayton area and features well know programs such as
Centerville, Northmont, Springfield, and Wayne. Especially Wayne has a very long lineage when it comes to developing and producing division I college football players. Some famous Wayne Warriors include Marcus Freeman, Braxton
Miller, Robert Landers, and more recently L’Christian ‘Blue’ Smith.

And they may have their next round of super talented players in the 2022 class
with three-star tight end Elijah Brown and four-star offensive tackle Aamil
Wagner. The latter of which in Wagner is rated as one of Ohio’s top prospects
and has picked up offers from programs such as Stanford, Oregon, Tennessee,
and Penn State this summer.

As a sophomore Wagner split time as an offensive tackle and defensive end but now that he is in his junior season he is devoting all his time to being an offensive tackle. He is the starting left tackle for Wayne and completely locked down his quarterbacks’ blindside last Friday. And while he may need to refine his technique along with adding weight the build and potential are there for Wagner to a big-time prospect.

Just like Elijah Brown whom we talked about in an earlier article we spoke with Wagner post-game and came away very impressed with his young man. We talked to him about getting back on the field, his aggressive nature,
continuing to grow, and of course his recruitment.

“Just being physical, being nasty, and getting the blocks done is what we do
around here,” said Wagner on his playstyle in the trenches.
