I was OSU’s first soccer style place kicker in 1971. I kicked two extra points in the spring game.
Football coaches do not always consider the following principle of soccer style place kicking.
A right footed place kicker needs to kick from the left of the center of the field to increase the chances of making the kick.
Otherwise, it’s too easy to hook the ball. It’s simple geometry in the follow through during the kick.
