Brock Glenn Commits to the Buckeyes: Instant Analysis

4-Star quarterback, Brock Glenn, from Tennessee, has committed to Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Brock is officially the man at quarterback for the 2023 class, with the Buckeyes ultimately winning out over Florida State, LSU, Auburn, and TCU.

ANALYSIS

The gunslinger from Memphis is listed at 6’2” and a 195lb. He is in Ryan Day’s mold of a good passer with some escapability to him.

Strengths: Very quick release. The ball really pops off of his hand and it comes off with relative ease. He can make throws outside the numbers and deep down the field, and can really drive the ball in the middle of the field as well. He moves pretty well, not a Braxton Miller athlete by any means, but he has some crafty escapability in his game and is not afraid to step up and deliver a ball. While he is not a very big guy, he is also by no means small and could easily get up to 215-220lbs. He also seems to have a competitive drive that you need to play the position and is a gamer.

Weaknesses: Can get a little loose with the football. He has some gunslinger tendencies to him and does not always take care of the football. But, that said, I am certain Ryan Day feels he can get that coached out of him, or at least dialed back. He has a tendency to lose his feet at times. Since he is a decent athlete and can move a bit, he will sometimes lose his base when he goes to run and will deliver an errant ball. His deep ball accuracy is a work in progress and while his arm is by no means weak, he does not have a howitzer.

All in all, this is a good and safe get for Ryan Day and his offense. Potentially underrated, dare I say? Glenn has plenty of room to grow and he has a very high ceiling once he gets exposed to the high level of coaching he will get from Day. Plus, playing with this group of skill players could never hurt his development.

I want Michigan to lose every game. I want them to cease football operations entirely. I hate them with every fiber of my being
